The Voynich Botanical Plants
Folio 9v Back to Plant ListFolio 9v, Viola (Violaceae), was identified by Dana Scott (Kennedy G. and Churchill R, 2004, The Voynich Manuscript, Inner Traditions, Vermont, p.164). This plant is native to the more temperate regions of the Northern hemisphere. All parts of the plant are edible being rich in vitamins A and C. The flowers are used as an herbal tea and as decorations for cakes.
